This challenge only had two requirements. It has to be about the race and we have to scraplift one of our teammate's layouts from the race. I scraplifted this layout from Katie, and here's my lifted page.

The challenge was to make a scrapbook page about our favorite movie. Here's my page...of course it is A&Es Pride and Prejudice.

Journaling: This movie is amazing. I think it brings out the romantic in me. I love every minute of this six hour movie. The best part is Colin Firth’s portrayal of Mr. Darcy. He is perfect in this role!!

Challenge #9 is all about an embarrassing moment. We have to include a photo, at least one ribbon, one tag, and two different fonts.

Journaling: Embarrassing While I was at Basic Training for the Air Force, I experienced one of my most embarrassing moments. My flight was late for an appointment, so we had to double time; that is basically running in formation. While we were double timing, I stepped on a crack and could tell that my ankle was going to get twisted. In a split second decision, I decided to roll onto the grass rather than hurt my ankle. I got up quickly and caught up with my flight and got back in my place. Days after that I was transferred to a different flight in a different squadron. I was only in my original flight for one week. More than four months later, after basic was over and I was finished with half of my technical training, I was sitting on the steps of the community center and a guy that I did not recognize walked up to me and asked, "Aren't you the girl who fell?" How did he even remember that??

Challenge #8 is a layout about girl talk. Here's what I came up with.

Journaling Reads: This group of girls are my oldest friends; the only one missing is Tara We have all been friends since high school. Some of us have moved to different cities and states, but when we are all back in our hometown, we try to get together for a little Girl Talk.

For challenge #7, one partner selected the background and placed the photos (at least 10 photos), and the other partner had to embellish the page. This is the page that I selected background a photos and Katie embellished it. She did a fantastic job at the embellishements!! She even created the little paint splatters. Isn't she great?

This is what the challenge entails:
You have hit a ::ROADBLOCK:: This challenge only needs to be completed by one member of your team. (I think Katie is making a page as well, and we'll just turn in one of them)

You will need to create a "messy" style layout. Please use a solid paper and only 2 patterns for any paper extras. You must use at least 15 elements and no more than two elements can be from the same designer. We would also love to see some fancy title work (an alpha used for your title work can be considered one element) and there should be at least a tiny bit of journaling. Include dates, location and names somewhere on the layout.

I'm also going to use this layout for the "We Digi-dare-ya" challenge.

Journaling reads: Megan is my first niece. She loves to fill up her watering can and water the flowers in Grandma and Papa's backyard.

Aly's Challenge #5

Someone in your life has taught you something that has stuck with you. Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to scrap about that. Figure out what was passed down to you, from whom, and memorialize it. This is challenge #5.

Journaling reads: A few years ago I went to Staples and wondered around for over an hour. I looked at everything in the store, from notebooks and pencils to desks and office chairs. I bought a few things and went home. I showed my husband all the “cool” things I got at Staples and he looked at me like I was crazy. That’s when I started thinking I must be the only person in the world who LOVES office supplies. A couple of years later I moved home and discovered where I got this crazy obsession. My mother loves all the same things I do! I never consciously realized this before that time. Maybe it is hereditary or maybe I have grown up subconsciously learning this love of all office supplies, but I definitely got it from my mom.

Challenge #4 is all about the letter 'g'. 'G' has to prominent on the layout, and the word goal must be used.

I saw a layout once that used a bunch of alpha elements of the same letter and loved it. I immediately thought of using that idea when I read about the challenge.

Challenge #2

The second challenge is a collaboration effort between both members of the team. It was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. We spent a lot of time on the phone figuring everything out, and I think we did a pretty good job. The challenge stated that our layout had to include the following things: two photos, friendship, flowers, a doodle, and red. Here is what Katie and I came up with.

I really love the glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly. They must take forever to create. Hopefully I can see one of his exhibits some day.

Introducing Aly

Hi! I'm Alyson (the Aly part of Kate & Aly). I'm 29 and I started scrapbooking 14 years ago. I discovered digital scrapbooking about a year ago, and I'm completely converted. Check out my pages at Alyson's Scrapbook.

I'm currently going to school in Utah (my home state) to eventually become a pharmacist. I still have about 6 more years of school to get there. I served in the USAF for 6 years as an F-15 Avionics Technician (that means I worked on the the radar systems and cockpit displays/controls on the F-15). The best part about the military was getting to travel. I was stationed in North Carolina, England, Idaho, and Texas. I also spent three months in Saudi Arabia and was able to visit countless other places during that time.

I spend most of my free time (of which I have very little) scrapbooking or relaxing. I also enjoy reading and geocaching, but I haven't done much of either of those since I started school. I'm looking forward to this race and all the challenges it will bring. I hope it will motivate me to get a bunch of pages completed in a short amount of time. Let's get this party started!!

Hey All! I'm Katie! (The Kate part of Kate and Aly!) I'm 18, and since my sister, Aly, introduced me to Digital Scrapbooking around Christmas 2006, I've been hooked. You can see all of my digital pages on my scrapbook blog.

I enjoy movies, books, and music. I am an avid reader, and dream of becoming an author. I am currently writing my first book, and my biggest wish is that it will be a big hit.

My First Blinkie
